In conjunction with the Holiday Inn Peterborough West, the School has launched a competition to introduce a new School bun, created by a pupil. The kitchen staff make over 500 buns every day and a new creation to add to their recipe book is being sought.
Pupils in Years 6 to 13 have been asked to design a bun and supply the recipe which can be mass produced for the entire School. The judging panel, comprising Fred Muddiman, Executive Head Chef, Holiday Inn Peterborough West, Liz Darley, Assistant Domestic Bursar at The Peterborough School and Kim Phillips, HR Manager, Holiday Inn Peterborough West will select 15 top entries and these finalists will be invited to prepare and cook a three course lunch under the direction of Fred Muddiman and his team of professional chefs at the Holiday Inn on Saturday 26th April. The finalists will be presenting and serving their lunches to paying guests!
Parents and friends will be able to purchase tickets for the lunches, proceeds of which will go to the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice Appeal. In addition, as well as the winning bun being served as a regular break time snack, it will also be featured in the bar of the Holiday Inn during May, with contributions from customers also going to the Sue Ryder Appeal.
