Best Ever GCSE Results
All at The Peterborough School are today celebrating highest percentage of GCSE top grades that the School has seen since records began.
Students and staff at The Peterborough School are today celebrating the School’s best ever GCSE results, with the highest percentage of top grades that the School has seen since records began. 33.5% of all grades were at A* and 64.6% at A* or A. These percentages have smashed the School’s previous best which were gained last year.
Critically, 100% of students gained the national benchmark of five GCSEs at A* to C and importantly, all students also achieved five at C or above including maths and English – double last year’s national average which was 50% and including students who have worked in English as an additional language.
Headlining the outstanding results are gifted all-rounders, Megan Watkins, who gained straight A*s in her subjects, bagging 11.5 in total and Emily Yong who got 10.5 straight A*s. On top of their studies, both girls commit to a full schedule of extra curricular activities, including dance, drama and music. Not far behind were Gemma Rate, with 9.5 A*s and two As and Riya Patel with 9.5 A*s and one A.
Headmaster, Adrian Meadows, is clearly delighted to be enjoying a second successive week of excellent results: “Given that our students are of a broad academic ability range when they join us, I am absolutely thrilled at their success. To have every single one gaining at least five GCSEs at A* to C and all passing maths and English is a great achievement in itself but the number of top grades has made this a really exceptional year; I am delighted for every one that their hard work has been fully rewarded”.
