Week of Sporting Victories
It has been quite a week for our sports teams, with several excellent wins.
It has been quite a week for our sports teams, with several excellent wins.
In rounders, both the Year 9 and Year 10 teams took on The King's School. Both matches were extremely tight and required great tactical awareness as well as tremendous batting and fielding performances throughout. The Year 9 team finished with a ten and a half to ten victory, thanks to a late push on runs to gain the vital half which secured the match.
The Year 10s needed a shake up for the second half of the game and managed to improve their batting in the second innings to gain a twelve and a half to eleven win after another very tight finish.
In tennis, The Peterborough School hosted the Peterborough Schools' Year 9 Tournament. Our team, captained by Hannah Crier, won this event and were awarded a shield. Our Year 6 and 7 boys competed as 'guests' in the boys' Year 9 event and did extremely well, gaining some invaluable experience.
Congratulations also go to Darcy Skelton of Year 8 who, playing for local team Netherton Diamonds Under 14, won the final of the Mid Shires Girls' Football League and the Terry Fryer Cup at MK Dons' stadium.
Well done to everyone on a very successful week!
