This year’s A Level results are by far the best ever on record. The overall pass rate of 100%, which cannot be beaten, remains for the fourth year in succession but today saw a leap in the number of grades at the top levels. 41.3% of all the grades were at A* or A – up from last year’s 35.8%.
The number of A*, A and B grades has also reached an unprecedented level at 67%. It should also be noted that our A* percentage
Top achievers who will be particularly enjoying the day’s celebrations are Eleanor Swire and overseas student, Katie Tsoi, each with two A*s and an A. Eleanor also gained a Merit in her AQA Baccalaureate, together with a string of additional AS Levels, including an A in Latin. Eleanor has now been accepted at York University to read English and Katie will take up her place at Nottingham to read Finance, Accounting and Management.
Equally exceptional are the AS Level results, also out today, which are again the best on record - with almost a third of grades at A (32.4%) and almost two thirds at A or B (61.9%).
A delighted Headmaster, Adrian Meadows, was keen to congratulate all the students on contributing to this first class set of results: “All of the students should be congratulated on these outstanding topline results, which have beaten the excellent levels of previous years and are testament to everyone’s hard work throughout the year. They and their teachers should be very proud of themselves”.
