Year 11 students are today celebrating after 100% of them gained the benchmark minimum of five GCSEs at grades A* to C.
The figure gaining five at A* to C including English and maths is also very high at 90.62%
Students also did very well on the tough new criteria introduced last year by the Government, the English Baccalaureate, which looks at the percentage of students gaining five GCSEs across a core of academic subjects – English, maths, history or geography, the sciences and a language. The Peterborough School’s 68.75% for this was up on last year’s figure, which saw them placed second in the whole of the East Anglia region.
Pooja Seta and Bethany Cameron had great hauls with 7.5 A*s and three As each to add to their GCSEs in Latin which they got in Year 10.
Sophie Wilson and Lauren Gilchrist will be jumping for joy too with their clean sweeps of A*s and As, with Sophie gaining 11.5 in total and Lauren 9.
Headmaster, Adrian Meadows, was quick to praise this year’s students on their very good results: “It is imperative these days for students to gain a minimum of five good GCSEs and I’m absolutely delighted that every one of our Year 11s are able to walk away from this year’s examinations having secured this. Very well done to everyone”.
