The boys' packed itenerary included training and fitness sessions, a tour of Twickenham Stadium, playing a match and competing in a triangular tournament, watching the Rugby World Cup final and watching Premiership sides London Irish take on Newcastle Falcons at the Madejski Stadium. Away from the rugby, the boys also managed to fit in a shooting session at Eton College, a tour of Windsor Castle and some ten-pin bowling.
The girls joined other school teams at La Manga and their five-day tour started with coaching sessions from England coaches and a mini tournament with teams mixing players from the different schools. Further coaching and shooting practices were followed by the start of the tournament proper. The girls performed really well and enjoyed the opportunity to play against older girls and different school teams. The tour ended with a presentation night when The Peterborough School Cowgirls received the overall tournament award for Best Team Spirit and Francesca Saberton was commended by the All England coaches as Most Improved Player of the tournament.
Mr Roberts and Mr Brocklesby, who led the boys' tour and Mrs Poulain and Miss Smith, who took the girls, were all extremely impressed by the improvements all players made to different aspects of their games as well as their commitment and manners throughout. All four teachers were very proud of the students who participated and represented The Peterborough School brilliantly.
