15 Mile Challenge
Students, staff and parents have been pounding out the miles on the specially marked quarter mile track
Students, staff and parents have been pounding out the miles on the specially marked quarter mile track on the back pitch over the last couple of weeks, trying to complete a total of at least 15 Miles and raise funds for the Sports Facility Appeal.
The Challenge has been taken up by a huge number of people who have stoically run, jogged and walked, during lunch breaks, PE lessons and after School, trying to meet their personal goals in some pretty awful conditions. A number have been aiming for Elite Status by reaching a total of 55 miles over the 12 working days, which is a tremendous feat.
Organiser and Director of Sport, Steve Roberts, has been very impressed with participants' enthusiasm and determination and is looking forward to seeing a healthy total of sponsorship money come in at the end of the Challenge "I congratulate everyone who has taken up the Challenge and reached their own personal target, however many miles that it. It has been wonderful to see a combination of students, staff and parents all running together in every single session, despite some truly awful weather. A big Well Done and Thank You to everyone who has taken part and helped with the admin".
