12 of our rowers competed in the British Indoor Rowing Championships, held at Nottingham University in March. Despite there not being relay races this year, our individual entrants all performed brilliantly.
Star performance came from Year 6 pupil, Archie Sootheran, who became J11 British Boys 11 and Under Champion. Our other medal winners were Aimee Parker (Girls J14 SIlver) after an amazing row of 1031 metres in 4 minutes and Rohan Khosla (J13 Bronze).
Everyone who travelled put in wonderful performances and should all be congratulated for their hard work over the past year.
Soon after the Nationals came the final Peterborough League match and , having dominated the League all season, the team stormed the last round, coming out with the best overall average percentage, the best top 5 percentage, the best top 3 percentage, all three top performers and the top three improvers. Our overall points score was 113, which was 53 points above Hampton College who came second.
Team Captain, Daniel Boyle, was the top individual rower with Aimee Parker in second and George Kelsall in third. The top three improvers were Simon Heath, Sophie Leggott and Philippa King. All 26 rowers from Years 6 to 13 who represented the School so well should be congratulated for their tremendous performance and commitment.
